Love is in the air these days as wedding season is running all around. It seems to be the spell of marriages, where lots of celebrities also tied into a knot with their loving partners. There are many more scheduled for this year and next and we are eagerly waiting for those to be held soon. Today, it is about one more recent celebrity wedding which took place secretly on May 11. It is Haider actor Narendra Jha’s marriage with former censor board CEO Pankaja Thakur.
Narendra Jha is seen currently in the show Begusarai, which is telecasted on And TV (&TV). He is best known for his role as ‘Hari Om Baapji’ in very famous television series ‘Havan’, title role in ‘Thief Of Baghdad’, and Shahid Kapoor’s father role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider. Other than these, he has acted in many more television shows, including ‘Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath’, ‘Captain House’, ‘Jinnah’, ‘Raavan’, ‘Chhoona Hai Aasmaan’, ‘Chehra’, and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’. Some of his upcoming movies are ‘Ghayal returns’, and ‘Mohenjodaro’. He married Pankaja Thakur on 11th may secretly near Nashik in Maharashtra. Pankaja has been the CEO of CBFC, central board of film certification and has one daughter from his ex-husband.
On asking about his secret wedding, Narendra said, “We are private people, so we wanted it to be a low-key affair. Apart from our families, only a few close friends were a part of it. We didn’t make a hue and cry about it, primarily because we aren’t in our 20s. Secondly, the industry assumes things when two people get together.” Both the bride and groom know each other from a very long time. They were thinking to get married from a very long time, but to co-parent her daughter along with ex-husband, Pankaja took some time. Narendra says, “I have known her since the time we were in Delhi.I met her again in 2007. I proposed marriage to her in 2009 and it took her a year to accept my proposal. She made up her mind about getting remarried at the end of 2010, but she then asked for time. She was co-parenting her daughter along with her ex-husband. She didn’t want to disturb her daughter’s life back then since she was quite young,”
