After lifting the weight of 1104.5 pounds (501 kilograms) on Saturday, the actor has now raised the ground more than anyone in the history of the sport.
He posted a video of the exploit later today.
"I have no words. What an amazing day I will remember for the rest of my life," Björnsson wrote in an Instagram post after the elevator.
"I said I was coming for this and once I have decided on something, I am a dog with a bone. I want to give a huge cry to my family, my friends, my trainers, my fans, my sponsors and my enemies, who all helped make it possible.
For the past month, he's been sharing his training regiment leading to the record elevator on his YouTube channel, where he also posts other training videos.
