HABS: Player by Player Takeaway Totals by Zone

For the purpose of this graph, a takeaway is described as any play made by a player that either removes puck-possession from the opposition, or acquires possession for his own team. Events used in this calculation include:
  • blocked passes
  • blocked shots
  • successful stick-checks
  • successful body-checks
  • loose-puck recoveries


DEFENSEMEN
  • PK Subban has produced the most takeaways in the defensive-zone per-minute played
  • Francis Bouillon has produced the fewest takeaways in the d-zone
  • Andrei Markov has the most neutral, and offensive-zone takeaways
  • Bouillon has the fewest offensive-zone takeaways
  • Douglas Murray has the fewest neutral-zone takeaways

CENTRES
  • Lars Eller has produced the most offensive, and defensive-zone takeaways
  • Tomas Plekanec has the most neutral-zone takeaways
  • Ryan White has the fewest offensive-zone takeaways
  • David Desharnais has contribute the fewest neutral and defensive-zone takeaways

WINGERS
  • Max Pacioretty has the most offensive-zone takeaways per-minute played
  • Michael Bournival and Brendan Gallagher have also contributed a substantial amount of offensive-zone takeaways
  • Bournival and Pacioretty have the most neutral-zone takeaways per-minute
  • Bournival and Brandon Prust have the most defensive-zone takeaways per-minute
  • Daniel Briere and Travis Moen have produced the fewest offensive-zone takeaways
  • Rene Bourque has the fewest defensive-zone takeaways
  • Briere and Alex Galchenyuk have the fewest neutral-zone takeaways per-minute played
