Mostly used when describing defensemen, defensive-zone passing success-rate represents each player's success-rate when attempting a pass from the defensive-zone. Passes used in this calculation include; d-to-d passes, outlet passes, and stretch passes.
Among defensmen, Josh Gorges, and PK Subban have the top defensive-zone passing success-rates, while Douglas Murray, Francis Bouillon, and Nathan Beaulieu have the lowest success-rates. Over the last 10 games Beaulieu has actually had the third-best d-zone passing success-rate behind only Subban and Gorges.
Over the last 10 games, only Bouillon (SSS) has had a lower defensive-zone passing success-rate than Andrei Markov and Murray.
Among forwards with significant sample sizes, Travis Moen and Lars Eller have the top defensive-zone passing success-rates, while the lowest passing success-rate belongs to Rene Bourque.
Over the last 10 games, Moen has been passing at a success-rate over 90%, while at the other end of the spectrum Daniel Briere, and Brandon Prust have been passing in the defensive-zone at a success-rate barely over 60%. Ryan White's sample size over the last 10 games remains limited.
