These graphs display each Montreal Canadiens defenseman's puck-possession, and defensive success-rates in the defensive-zone. Only events that take place in the defensive-zone are included in this graph.
Puck-possession success-rates represents how successful a player is at maintaining possession by way of a pass, deke, or dump-out. Conversely, if we subtract a player's puck-possession success-rate from 100 we would arrive at the rate at which that player turns the puck over.
Defensive success-rate represents how successful a player is at removing puck-possession from the opposition. Events used in this calculation include blocked shots, blocked passes, stick-checks, and body-checks.
The higher the bubble appears in the graph, the higher the player's defensive success-rate. The further the bubble is to the right, the higher the player's puck-possession success-rate.
- Only even-strength events were used in this calculation.
- The larger player's bubble appears, the more defensive-zone events that player engages in per-minute.
