Gutter Cat Gang launch but one other dilutive NFT project

Gutter Cat Gang, the highly successful NFT series, have announced a new tier to their “Gang Membership” called “Gutter Clones”. Users can obtain these by buying DNA-2 (or DNA-1) through a Dutch auction. This happened on Saturday, September 10.

The Tier & Cloning process of Gutter Cat Gang

The Tier process of Gutter Cat Gang is really simple. From lowest to highest value, Gutter Clones are in the input tier (needs DNA), Gutter Rats, Pigeons and Dogs are in the middle-tier, and Gutter Cats are in the top.

The cloning process gets a bit confusing but, simple enough for those who have gathered all the aspects. For DNA-1, users enter DNA-1 juice and an OG Gutter Cat to get a D1 clone, and their OG back (this was involved so that the clone would recreate the OG’s traits). Instead, they can enter DNA-1 Juice and Dice Roll to have a random D1 clone.

For DNA-2, users enter their DNA-2 Juice, and two D1 Clones. That is to say, one of them is unharmed, and the other one is burned. After that, they get a D2 Clone and their unharmed D1 Clone.

About the Clone NFTs and DNA

The Clone NFTs by Gutter Cat Gang need DNA-2 juice to obtain. There were 4,000 DNA-2 Gutter Juice NFTs available in the Dutch Auction (this contains 1,000 of each Gutter Clone types).

The claimed NFTs have not been previously announced, but the D1 versions are available on secondary markets. On OpenSea, the Clones have a floor price of 0.16 ETH (about half of the lowest possible price in the Dutch auction). The Gutter Juice (DNA-2 only) has a floor price of 0.22 ETH (still below the lowest Dutch auction price).

The Fans’ response

Fans of Gutter Cat Gang, through Twitter, expressed their disappointment and said that the giant NFT brand is releasing more PFPs to their ecosystem. They saw it as getting fans to pay more to them. @Nate_Rivers, a well-known Twitter user, said: “Wtf? Another mint…? Cool.” They said later in their own post. “The band has collected close to 10 M, literally has seen nothing come from it. It’s incredibly insensitive to market conditions.

More calculations from Rivers show that the drop raised $2-6 M for Gutter Cat Gang specifically, where the NFTs were sold between 0.3 and 0.9 ETH.

While these comments don’t reflect all the reactions to the new series, a few others certainly agreed. On the other hand, some people said that this can just be good. Because that means the series raises more money for upcoming endeavors.
