Gunmen Storm Nigerian University Campus, Abduct Four Students

Some gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped some college students of Federal College of Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Each day Belief experiences that the scholars had been kidnapped near their College campus at Mararaba, near Abuja.

In the meantime, the Public Relations Officer of the establishment, Abubakar Ibrahim, confirmed the incident, explaining that 4 college students had been kidnapped.

Based on him, the gunmen stormed the college neighborhood at 11:30pm on Thursday and whisked the scholars to an undisclosed location.

"The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, on behalf of the management of the institution, expressed his profound outrage at the unfortunate development and condemned it in strong terms and demand for the immediate release of those kidnapped."

The Vice-Chancellor was quoted as saying kidnapping of scholars constitutes one of the vital severe threats to training in Nasarawa State, particularly, and Nigeria usually.

Whereas expressing his deep sympathy to the households of the kidnapped college students, he assured them that severe efforts had been being taken to make sure the short rescue of the victims.

"The Vice-Chancellor, who has since visited the area where the students were kidnapped, visited the Nasarawa Police command where he formally notified the Commissioner of Police about the abduction of the students," the assertion added.

The Vice-Chancellor additional urged college students to pay extra consideration to security-related issues and appealed to them to stay calm and go about their regular actions.

He hinted that extra measures have been put in place to ensure ample security of lives and property inside and outdoors the College.
