Two individuals were injured and hospitalized after a gunman opened fire at them near the Negombo Courts yesterday.
According to the police, the victims have been shot while returning from the court after appearing for a drug related case. It was reported that the incident has happened at the Beach Street area while they were traveling in a car.
They have been admitted to the Negombo Hospital. One of them underwent a surgery and currently receiving treatment at the ICU, police said.
The injured are in the ages of 40 and 51 and are residents of Katuwellegama and Godella area.
Police are yet to recover the motive for the shooting. Negombo police are investigating.
