Gulf Shores Arts and Festivities To Experience

By Melody Schubert @USATM
My wife, Melody, loves art, and whenever we travel she's certain to find a Museum or festival to visit. When traveling about Alabama, we've discovered many artistic sites and crafty items like those on exhibit in Fairhope, Alabama at the Eastern Shore Art Center. With galleries filled with exhibits that change monthly and art by Member Artist, you'll always discovered something unexpected at the Eastern Shore Art Center.
Find creative works of art and more in the Gulf ShoresIf we had more time on our trips, my wife would certainly join one of the classes or workshops held in the spacious studios that are offered for adults and children. The Eastern Shore Art Center also host an Outdoor Art Show each year. Art Shows not only highlight the local talent of Artist, they are also a great way to learn new techniques and share creative ideas. And, since the Art Center is located in the Gulf coast area of Alabama you'll find many works that feature scenes of the natural beauty and wildlife. During the Art Show, which runs during the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, you'll find over a hundred booths with arts and crafts in many mediums at this FREE event.

Gulf Coast Activities and More To Enjoy

While visiting Alabama's Gulf Coast there are plenty of other events to enjoy as well; including the Annual Magnolia Run in Magnolia Springs in Late April. This 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run/walk travels along the scenic streets of Magnolia Springs.
In Early May in nearby Foley is the Annual Art-in-the-Park that features fine arts and crafts, Artisans from all around the South. In Monroeville in Early May is the Alabama Writers Symposium, and in Mid June you can join the Alabama Blueberry Festival in Brewton. While we aren't known to eat a lot, We'll take any excuse to sample local food and tasty treats on our adventures. The Alabama Blueberry Festival also features arts and crafts, live entertainment, children’s games, blueberries, blueberry bushes, and plenty of foods made of blueberry.
For the Fishermen and women in your family head to Dauphin Island later in Mid July for the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo. Each year over 3000 fisherman compete for prizes in what has become the largest salt water fishing Rodeo.
