If you’re a freelance writer, especially if you’re just starting out, you’re probably facing the constant challenge of finding ways to get paid for blogging. It’s hard at first to get paid as an author, particularly if you don’t know where to find good jobs or clients.

If you are a blogger, you probably know about guest posting. You put an idea on another site, they support it, you get more backlinks, and it’s good for everyone. Normally, no money exchanges hands during the process. However, that’s not always the case.

Several blogs are offering to pay the contributions they give to guest authors. Of course, that’s not to suggest you can just sell your plans and take in a ton of money. Paying opportunities for guest posting is not necessarily lucrative in most situations.

With a weekly freelance writing job, you can easily make more. Guest blogging, however, is not about making money, but about creating backlinks to your website. In addition, that can help with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and hopefully pay off on a long-term basis.

Even so, guest blogging is basically unpaid job. A lot of popular blogs have you go through complex editorial processes before they accept guest posts. That means you end up spending a lot of time working in exchange for one or two links in many cases.

However, if you’ve ever tried to sell blogs before, you know it takes time to secure guest blogging opportunities. In my experience, most bloggers won’t even respond to your inquiries unless they like your website, and the planets align well. The whole thing resembles a part-time job between finding opportunities to post visitors, selling certain blogs and working on posts.

Guest posting, however, remains one of the best ways to create backlinks. When you consider blogs providing paid incentives for guest blogging, then you should be all over them. After all, a bit of money is better than none at all for your job.

Guest Blogging is now an industry standard. Nonetheless, I’ve never been a fan of unpaid work, which is why many blogs are now offering to pay guest writers which makes me happy. The downside is that other websites also use their leverage to obtain money from blogs going up and coming up.

You might think that paying for a popular website to publish your work is worth it. Nevertheless, the cost of a backlink is difficult to quantify. However, most niches have plenty of blogs that are happy to receive donations from visitors without trying to get money from you. It’s all you need to know how to find them and sell them.
