Guest post: The fun way to eat healthily Eating healthily can appear boring and dull, but it really doesn’t have to be. It is easy to eat healthily without having to live off salad and rice cakes. There are many different celebrity diets and fads going around at the moment, but all you need to remember is to eat healthily and exercise regularly. Here are some fun ideas that are healthy and tasty.
Chicken and chips Chicken is brilliant as you can make it into so many different meals. One of our favourites is chicken with green vegetables and oven chips. Chicken baked in the oven with some wholegrain mustard and wrapped in bacon is delicious on its own, but becomes sensational when served with a nice bowl of thick cut oven chips and salad vegetables.
Venison steak and chips Venison steak is a great, healthy alternative to beef - it is lower in fat and not too expensive either. Prepare it with a red wine, cranberry jelly and onion reduction to give it a bit of added flavor – be sure to cook it long enough for the alcohol to evapourate. Again, this is best served with your favorite green veg and carrots and some oven chipsAny steak needs to be served with chips after all.
Super-food Salad If you love a good garden salad then make it feel like you’re eating a hearty meal by adding the contents of the fridge to it. Don’t scrimp on your salad otherwise they become dull and boring. A great salad has mixed leaves, pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, broccoli, onion and grated carrot along with a topping of with pomegranate seeds. You can add some grilled chicken to this to make it a bit more filling.
Simple stir-fry A stir-fry is a delicious and healthy option. A lovely, simple chicken and veg stir-fry with a sweet chilli sauce, served with some fresh egg noodles is a wonderful, filling and low-fat evening meal. And it’s super quick too.

If you’re worried about keeping these ideas healthy, have a look at the McCain website to see how their products compare to others. At 5 per cent fat, you really can’t go wrong with their chips and they are just as tasty as the very unhealthy kind. This is a partnered post
