Lyndsey has been one of my favorite bloggers from wayyy before she revamped her blog name and started a new site. She’s the epitome of sweetness, and I adore her to no end! As well, she’s part of the Shaped by Style gals, which means that I get to STEAL her style now and then, which is so much fun! So be sure to hop over to her blog and check out more of what she posts! Hey y’all! I’m Lyndsey and today I’m filling in for sweet mama bear while she is out bringing new life to the world <3 . A little bit about me: I’m a born and raised sweet Georgia peach with a big heart and a love for all things girly and glam. Beauty and style are what I talk about 99% of the time, so it only makes sense to blog about it, right? Dressed In Mascara is where you can find all my beauty chattering goodness.
As for today – it’s all about these nails! You could say I’m a nail art addict, so with Kristina having a baby girl and all, I decided to do some baby girl inspired nails! I didn’t want to go too overboard and literally do “baby” nails, but I did want to feature something completely girly and something that resonates with Kristina. Since she loves owls, I went for a baby owl theme! Here’s how I did it:
Supplies needed:
Polish colors of your choice
Toothpick
Bottle cap (or something to hold dipping polish)
Polish remover & cotton swabs for cleanup
Step 1: (Always paint your nails with a protective base coat before adding color!) Paint 2 coats of base color on nail and let it dry completely.
Step 2: Taking white polish, paint a potato shape. This will be the owl’s face.
Step 3: Taking a toothpick, take the white polish and pour a little bit into a bottle cap. Dip the toothpick in the polish, making little “c” shapes. These will be the feathers. Turn the shapes backwards and forwards, leaving space between each.
Step 4: Taking the other end of the toothpick, pour some brown polish into the bottle cap. Dip the toothpick in the polish, making more tiny “c” shapes in between each white feather shape.
Step 5: Take the toothpick and make two small oval shapes. Then make a “v” in between both ovals. This is the owl’s face. Make the center of the “v” a little bit thicker than the sides. This will be the beak.
Step 6: Topcoat and you’re all done!
Thank you for featuring me, Kristina! God bless you and your new little angel.. XOXO!
Love, Lyndsey
