Guest Post: Elana, Room 334

Elana’s is a blog I have been reading forever, it feels like, and I absolutely love her! She’s nerdy (win!), girly (another win!) and probably has one of the best smiles I’ve ever seen. I am so happy she agreed to guest post while I’m away, because if you don’t read her blog you absolutely need to. Enjoy! Guest Post: Elana, Room 334 Hello there, Eccentric Owl readers! I’m Elana, the blogger behind Room 334. I was so excited when Kristina asked me to be one of her guest bloggers. Not only do I love the chance to write on one of my favorite Internet friend’s blog, but I also love that it means that she is welcoming a little girl into the world, who is sure to be just as adorable as Asa assuming that’s even possible. One of the reasons I started blogging in the first place was because it was the easiest way for me to connect with other females. I grew up with four brothers and no sisters, and as I got older, I started to realize that I was much more comfortable making friends with guys than I was girls. Then I started blogging. Suddenly, I had this community of girls who were supportive of each other, had a diverse interest in pop culture, completely subverted my idea of what most girls are like, and still shared my interest in Peter Pan collars and fit and flare dresses. Basically, you guys just get me. I love that I can write about how much I love this oversized collar, printed skirt, and how I still can’t believe that I’ve owned these Swedish Hasbeens for you, and you guys get it. But I can also tell you how excited I am for the new season of the X-Files, especially because Kumail Nanjiani is going to be it, and you (probably) get that too. When Kristina mentioned that it would be great to have “girl” themed posts while she is away, I couldn’t decide what to do because that honestly could mean ANYTHING. How awesome is that? I can write about anything that I want, and it can still be considered to be a girly post. I’m so excited for Kristina’s daughter to grow up in a world where she can be whatever kind of girl she wants to be. Unless she’s the kind of girl who’s not cool. Kidding. Obviously Kristina’s daughter is going to be cool. Let’s face it, she’s probably going to be way cooler than me. Thank you to Kristina for having me, and congratulations on the newest addition to your adorable family! And thank you to reading me ramble and try to make sense of my thoughts for a bit. If you’re interested in helping me make more friends (girl or otherwise), please stop by Room 334 (or my Instagram) and say hi. I’m a little awkward, but I’m told that I’m incredibly nice.
