Arguably one of the most graceful piston-engined aircraft ever designed, this Tigercat makes a photo pass down the runway during the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow.  First flown in 1943, it was delivered too late to see combat in World War II but saw action as a night fighter and attack aircraft during the Korean War.  The F7F was originally named the “Tomcat” but this name was rejected as it was considered too suggestive.  The name would be used much later for the Grumman F-14.  Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600 mm, processed with Aperture.
