Grimes, a Canadian musician, unveiled a metaverse book project for children at Friday’s Avalanche Summit. The initiative is part of the Avalanche Foundation and OP3N’s $100 million Culture Catalyst program, which supports the development of projects on Avalanche.
The Culture Catalyst initiative’s first supported project is Grimes’ Children’s Metaverse Book.
Grimes’ book project is noteworthy since it is the first financed initiative by the Culture Catalyst fund. The book labeled an “intergalactic children’s metaverse book,” is comprised of a mix of newborn and toddler-friendly illustrations. Grimes’ objective with this venture is to provide “a meaningful experience for infants that is just as profoundly important for adults.”
“When I first got into Web 3, this was the kind of project I was hoping to see,” Grimes noted in a statement. She also hopes that the picture will follow in the footsteps of Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro.
Grimes, who is active in the NFT community, recently sold his WarNymph collection for around $6 million. From her first NFT drop, Otis fractionalized Newborn 1 and 3. Additionally, TikTok’s NFT collection features the musician.

It has raised a seed round of $10 million led by Galaxy Interactive and BRV Capital Management.
As part of the Culture Catalyst funding, Grimes will collaborate with OP3N to further develop and market the Children’s Metaverse Book project.
