Grim Dawn Save File Location – Windows & Mac
By default the save files are stored in steam cloud (1st method), but if you have disabled it, check the second method
Steam Cloud
All Grim Dawn save files are saved by default in the Steam Cloud, and they are in the same path in windows (pc) and mac:
Save File Location: C: > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > a folder named after your account’s Steam3ID > 219990 > remote > save
If you have moved your steam folder, find it by following these steps:
- Launch steam > click steam (top left menu) > click settings
- click downloads (left menu) > steam library folders
- Copy the path to the steam folder
- Open File explorer or finder
- Paste the path
- Once in the steam folder go to userdata > a folder named after your account’s Steam3ID > 219990 > remote > save
FAQ: If there is more than one folder in the userdata folder and you don’t know which one is your Steam3ID, use a Steam3ID finder online
Steam Cloud Disabled
If you have disabled steam cloud, this is the path where you will find the save files:
Save File Location: %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save
Windows – How to open the save files path?
- Copy “%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save”
- Paste it into the address bar of File Explorer
- Press Enter
MAC – How to open the save files path?
- Copy “%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save”
- Press Command + Shift + G
- Paste %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save
- Press Go

All Grim Dawn save files are saved by default via Steam Play, and they are in this path
Save File Location: 219990 > pfx
So find the “219990” folder and then open the pfx folder
