Pneumatic nailers connect to most air compressors and provide adjustable PSI from around 70 to 140. Pneumatic nailers are less expensive than the other powered models (fuel, electricity), and they require you won an air compressor.

You might think that the price of the air compressor ruins the cost of the nailer, but when you factor in all the air powered tools you might need, then the value of the air compressor goes way down, and its application value goes way up.

While pneumatic nailers are connected to an air compressor, you can reach anywhere with them. Their added advantage is that they provide a constant torque, are not prone to power shortages like an electrical unit, nor flammable like a fuel powered unit.

Another advantage of pneumatic nailers is their longevity due to less moving parts.

Maintenance

Make sure you oil your nailer before and after use.

Safety

Pneumatic nailers are loud; the noise is compounded by the air compressor. So always wear ear mufflers.

Pneumatics creates blowbacks, so always wear eye protection and goggles.

What to Look out for Easy Jam Clearing

Nail guns jam. This is a common occurrence; therefore you must make sure that you buy a siding nailer with a jam clearing system.

Depth Adjustment

This is very important for all job types, and you should buy a nailer that has an adjustable depth gauge. I always recommend buying a hand adjustable depth unit; this gives you better control and constant, reliable results.

Nail Size Adjustment

Always aim for a nailer that gives you maximum ranges of flexibility. This means a gun that will enable you to use different nail gauges. Finding a nailer that gives you a wider nail range will save you a lot of money on buying nailers for different nail sizes.

Carrying Case

Unless you intend to use it in your garage or at home, I always suggest you buy one with a bespoke carrying case. It preserves the integrity of your nailer while making it easier for you to carry it anywhere you need to work.

Replaceable Protective Guards

It's important to maintain constant safety at work, find a nailer that has a built-in or attachable protective guard and of course, make sure its easy to replace.

Swiveling Air Connectors

This is very important for manipulating the nailer in all work conditions. If the nailer doesn't come with such an attachment, then buy one.

Directional Exhaust

This is another safety feature that is mandatory for protection while working. Make sure the exhaust is directed away from your face and body at all times.
