Are you the proud bearer of a new one Apple Watch Series 6? Did you get a discount? Series 4 or maybe you choose that Series 3 with the more attractive price tag of $ 199? Regardless of the model you wear, it goes without saying that your next stop will be the Apple Store - either online or in person. Where else would you stock up on watch straps, wireless earbuds, charging docks, and other accessories?
Literally different everywhere. All of these things are worth it, but Apple charges a sizable premium for them. Fortunately, there are excellent, affordable alternatives, many of which are listed below. I've tried some of these myself. others that I include based on user reviews or other factors. Note that my use of "cheap" here is not meant to indicate product quality, but rather price. I will update this list regularly.
Inexpensive Apple Watch bands
Thanks to easy-to-swap straps, the Apple Watch can quickly change both its appearance and function. A leather cord for work. (One day.) An exercise band for the gym. (One day.) A Milanese ribbon for them theatah. (Sigh.)
If you buy any of these products from an Apple Store, you will pay between $ 30 and $ 150. How absurd is that Here are some examples of Apple Watch bands that you can get for less money in some cases path fewer.
A Milanese loop is a metal mesh tape with a magnetic closure. It's one of the easiest bands to put on (and the size of your wrist), and it's a really stylish option too.
Apple charges $ 149 (!) For its version, but Amazon has tons of options in the $ 10 to $ 15 range. I linked to one of them below, but it's only representative of what's out there. Whatever you do, don't pay Apple $ 149.
A bummer on Milanese loops: over time, they can chew up the armhole of coats and sweaters. So, if you want a sleek look without this problem, or just don't like the feel of metal on your wrist, check out a leather strap.
Like this one: Fullmosa (via Amazon) sells a wide variety of calfskin Apple Watch bands, most of which cost between $ 10 and $ 15. You can choose from around a dozen different colors, many with one or two buckle colors.
Again, this is only one product of dozens. I chose it because the 4,300+ user ratings averaged around 4.5 stars.
If you don't want a silicone band but want something that is both fashionable and sporty, consider a sports bow. It's like a version of the Milanese loop made of woven nylon with Velcro instead of metal and magnets.
Below, I referred to a link that is only $ 8. However, you may also find multi-packs in the $ 15-20 range. Apple's price for a single: $ 49 and up.
My colleague Shara Tibken notes that the Velcro doesn't last that long on these cheaper bands, but even if you have to replace it every six months or so, you're still way ahead.

Inexpensive Apple Watch chargers
Traveling with an Apple Watch can be problematic as you have to charge it almost every day. This means that you can unplug your charger from the existing bedside configuration and hope you don't lose it in the process.
A better choice: pack a portable charger. Not a portable one was standing Mind you, one that uses the stock Apple charger, but a rechargeable power bank with the Apple Watch's own magnetic charging module.
Granted, this can be a hassle too as you will likely need to recharge the charger after a few uses. But leave it in the hotel room plugged into your laptop or other USB port and you're ready to go in the evening.
As with choosing a power bank for your phone, the higher the battery capacity, the more charges you get. However, before you decide on a Belkin or Griffin charger from the Apple Store and spend at least $ 60, be sure to check out some of the other options.
About as compact and keychain-friendly as Apple Watch portable chargers, this little guy has a 1,000mAh battery - you can charge it a couple of times depending on how low your watch's battery is.
One notable benefit: the charger itself uses a Lightning cable to charge, so you don't have to bring a micro-USB cable, which is the case with most of these things.

Inexpensive Apple Watch headphones
One of the Apple Watch's best tricks (if you have a Series 3 or higher) is the onboard storage for music and podcasts. To use this, you will need wireless headphones.
Like maybe AirPods? No question about it, this goes well with your Apple Watch. They're also a $ 159 match (or $ 249 for AirPods Pro) so no thanks. I would definitely start by reading CNET's roundup of the best sports headphones, including my top pick for runners, the AfterShokz Aeropex.
