A team from Modara Police found 27 fake Rs.5,000 notes in the possession of a person at Modera Rock House Lane last Saturday.
The 33-year-old suspect, who is a resident of Ratnapura, has said during questioning that he is a graphic designer.
Investigations have revealed that all these 27 notes with the same number were printed by this suspect.
The Police Media Office stated that the suspect has been handed over to the Counterfeit Currency Bureau of the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
