Via CBS: To raise money for the fight against cancer, several hundred employees of a Quincy company are going to shave their heads. At last check, more than 350 employees at Granite Telecommunications, including a number of women, had signed up to get their heads shaved Monday. The company has pledged $1,000 per employee and the company’s CEO and co-founder will match that.
Talk about go big or go home. Having participated in my first fundraiser these past few months, this stuff just hits me in a different way. Love it one hundred times out of a hundred. The money will go to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and is just a fantastic way to make an impact in people’s lives. Need something big like this for the Beard Off next year, because like it or not, The Boys in Beards are just getting started.
Also, in case that wasn’t enough, “Hair from some employees will be donated to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that re-purposes cut hair of at least 10 inches in length for prosthetics for children undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments to help restore confidence and self-esteem”
Straight Gig homie.
