Grammy Grammy!

Posted on the 27 January 2014 by Emma @lamodedemm
Monday morning, YAY(!)

But the week has started off a little juicy right, with the news of the Grammy's  hitting the tiny island of Britain this morning! I still haven't watched it yet which is pending on the never ending to do list, but those pictures of 'Best Dressed' and 'Worst Dressed' were caught in HIGH DEFINITION! I can't go through everyone's dresses and make commentary on them because honestly, I think I'd get carried away (typing is stress free and of ease for me; all credit to my MSN days) so I've selected those and require, yes ... require praise and grilling!Let us begin ...The following are pictures of those who came looking like the Big Guy upstairs had dressed and styled them himself:

Alicia Keys Grammy Awards 2014 Blue Armani Prive Gown

Alicia Keys: the colour = perfect (and on trend), the simplicity of the jewellery = perfect and the hair compliments the dress! I feel I would have liked to have seen just a little more colour in her make-up but she's stunning either way. AND her hips ... *applauds*
Designer: Armani Prive

Beyonce Grammy Awards 2014 Michael Costello Gown
Beyonce Grammy Awards 2014 Michael Costello Gown
Beyonce: Okay, this is tricky for me and I will come across bitchy no matter how I phrase this. I think from the shoulders down, this is one of the best looks at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The delicacy and intricacy of the detailing of this dress coupled with the mesh panelling is breathtaking. I feel, in my opinion, that everything from the shoulders up is a mess! The beach tasselled hair I think clashes with the overall angelic feel of this look and the make up is a little strong. But no denying her body is dynamite! On a side note, I heard her raunchy performance didn't go down a treat with everyone; doesn't she always warn her fans to 'beygood'?*laughs at own dry joke*Designer: Michael Costello

Musical theme: Katy Perry sported a stunning floaty Valentino gown decorated with notes for the Grammy Awards at The Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night

Katy Perry: This dress is STUNNING! the styling is STUNNING! I literally have no critique. It's also the most relevant dress of the night! It's unique enough to suit Katy Perry's wardrobe but also modest enough to suit the occasion and against the backdrop of other people's dresses.

Iggy Azalea Grammy Awards 2014 Elie Saab Gown

Iggy Azalea: B E A U T I F U L! The shape and the dress itself, especially the embellishment (which highlights her envious waist-to-hip ratio amazingly), the colour, the little pop of colour from the nails, the make-up; she was winning that night!

And finally ...

Ciara Grammy Awards 2014 Emilio Pucci Gown
Ciara Grammy Awards 2014 Emilio Pucci Gown

"Ciara .. uh huuuuh!" There's something about a woman with child right?! She is positively glowing as if the sparkle from the dress wasn't enough. She's in such a good place right now, I'm real happy for her!
Designer: Emilio Pucci

There's always those that, in my opinion again, I expected better from because usually they're always rocking!
Amber Rose Grammy Awards 2014
Shining example: Amber Rose sported a dramatic pale gold gown which showed off her ample curves, also hiding her tattoos with make-up

Amber Rose: I'm a little disappointed. I think the main issue here is a lack of contrast/colour. I'm really hopeless with make-up and what's what but I think she has too much bronzer on her? and it just clashes with her hair. And then to top it off the dress is gold, I just think it's much. She's a really beautiful, curvaceous woman but she just didn't bring it this time!
Also note how she hid her tattoos with make-up to create a softer look, you've got to love her!
Kacey Musgraves Grammy Awards 2014 Armani Privé Gown
Kacey Musgraves Grammy Awards 2014 Armani Privé Gown

Kacey Musgraves: In contrast to Beyonce, everything from the shoulders up is F L A W L E S S! From the shoulders down however, I'm not a fan. I won't daunt on this, maybe I'm biased because I really dislike tiered dresses but the colour suits her skin tone soo well!
Designer: Armani Privé
What is your take on these dresses? Do you agree/disagree with me?
