Today’s two grammar tips:
- Don’t say that you’ll try and do something; say you’ll try to do it. If you try to do something, you might achieve it, or you might not. If you try and do something, it means that you try for a while, and then you do it. The trying is part of the action, not a separate action from the doing.
- If you knock someone out or beat them down, you lay them low. If you’re trying to stay out of sight or go unnoticed, you’re trying to lie low.
