Today’s two grammar tips:
- Don’t say, “He’s taller than me.” Say, “He’s taller than I.” You can remember this by recognizing that the full sentence would be, “He’s taller than I am.”
- A comma is not strong enough by itself to separate two independent clauses. This is wrong: “We went to the ocean last summer, I learned to swim.” This is right: “We went to the ocean last summer. I learned to swim.” This is also right: “We went to the ocean last summer; I learned to swim.”
