Govt Bans 50 More ‘Chinese’ Smartphone Apps, Garena Free Fire May Be Banned Too In India: Report

The government reportedly banned 50 smartphone applications in India that might come from China. This is the first LOT application that seems to have been banned by the government by 2022 after a total of 270 applications are prohibited from 2020. Although there is no official list of prohibited applications, a report by ET now confirms that 50 again confirmed that 50 again confirmed that 50 more applications have been Banned by the government.

After saying that, the popular smartphone game called Garena Free Fire, previously disappeared from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and it seems the game might have been included in the new list of applications that are banned in India. Note that we are still waiting for official confirmation from Garena International, distributor of games. Also, Apple and Google have released a statement related to the loss.

Very little official information is known about the complete list of applications that are prohibited now. However, according to the report with ET now, a new list of applications banned mostly includes application clones that have been banned in India since 2020. With the addition of 50 clearer applications, the total application list is prohibited by India. Government applications can reach around 320.

Many popular applications including TICTOK and PUBG Mobile are prohibited by the Indian government before. While Pubg Mobile, somehow made a comeback in India with Krafton preparing a new office and cutting bonds with Chinese partners, Tiktok was not lucky and continued to be banned in the country.
