The Republicans have economic theory backwards. They want to give the rich and the corporations more money -- the very people who need it least in this country. And they want to take away from those who need government help the most -- children, seniors, the unemployed, the poor.This is not only mean-spirited, but stupid. It takes money out of the economy and depresses demand -- at a time when the economy needs to be stimulated to increase demand (and the only way to do that is to put more money in the hands of those that need it the most, because they will spend it).
