Google’s Universal Search: 2012 Analysis

Posted on the 29 March 2013 by Infographixdirectory @infographixdir

Searchmetrics produced an infographic, Universal Search in the Google SERPs, that summarizes their analysis on how Universal Search integrates in Google search results for 2012. The infographic highlights the distribution of Universal Search, the market share for each type of search results, as well as some insight on how Google’s own properties fared. Some of big takeaways from the infographic are:

  •  Videos are decreasing, but still hold a large share of the blended search results.
  • An increase in the number of news integration as well as the number of sources being displayed.
  • A drop in the number of shopping integration due to Google moving to a paid model for this vertical.
