To make Android Smartphone more useful Google Has designed some new features. On the occasion of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), the company introduced several innovations to further empower persons with disabilities. Come, let’s talk about these new features.

Google New Accessibility Feature

For your information, let us tell you that on May 18, there is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). According to Google’s blog post, GAAD is an opportunity for everyone to talk, think and learn about digital access and inclusion.

Android smartphones have become very useful for people in the last few years. Whether it’s to magnify the screen to help you read easier or use live captions to take notes from a meeting. Accessibility features show people that their phones will work for them regardless of any disabilities.

Google’s new accessibility features include improvements to the Live Caption feature. In addition, new features will allow users to learn more about which places are wheelchair-accessible, and AI to help generate alt text.

This feature came in Google Maps

Let us tell you that till 2020, people were able to use the Accessibility Places features on Google Maps. So that they can know whether ramps are provided for wheelchairs at any place or not. However, hiding these features behind opt-ins didn’t make it as profitable as Google might have thought.

To rectify this, the company has removed the sign up requirement and now one can see if there are any other options for those looking for stairs anywhere.

web browsing improvements

Not only this, new features also included facilities for web browsing. Google Chrome will be able to detect typos as you type in URLs. It can help people with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, as well as people who are just learning a new language.

The feature is already available on desktop, but it may take a few more months to arrive on mobile. Nevertheless, Chrome for Android is getting a TalkBack update to help mobile users better manage their tabs.

Live Caption just got more useful

Some special features for Live Caption are not yet available. However, that will help people to have better conversations. On a phone call, users can type their responses into the feature.

This will help the other person to read the message. It’s currently only available on Pixel 6 and 7 devices, but will be available on older models as well as other Android phones. Apart from this, Google has also come up with more features.
