Google, Apple and Microsfot, the world’s three leading technology companies, had made a FIDO Alliance last year. Tech companies are trying to insist on using Passkey instead of password. Google has brought this passwordless feature for its users. Google users will now be able to log in to their Gmail, Youtube, Android accounts without a password. For this, users have to create a digital credential called Passkey after logging into the account.

Google has blog post I told that from May 3, the Passkey feature has been added to all Google accounts. Google told that users will have to create Passkey to use it. After Passkey is created, users will not be asked for password and 2-Step Verification (2SV) while logging in to Google Account. In this case, users will have to use only Passkey to log-in to their account.

What is Passkey?

Google told in its blog-post that this is a new way to log in to apps and websites. It is easier and more secure than a password. After creating Passkey, users will no longer need to keep common passwords like pet’s name, date of birth and Password123 to log-in to their account. Users will be able to log-in to their Google Account with their device’s fingerprint, screen lock, PIN or face scan by simply creating a pass-key.
