Godwick Hall Summer Wedding

Posted on the 04 December 2019 by Chris Bottrell

Godwick Hall Wedding of Hayleigh and Paul. I'm no stranger to a Godwick Hall Wedding, but every wedding I photograph at Godwick Hall Is different from the last. Godwick Hall seems to have this power to morph and change every time I visit. It is like shooting a wedding at a different venue each time.

I started in the Farmhouse photographing bridal preparations alongside my second shooter Ray. We are lucky at Godwick Hall to have the space for the bride and groom to both get ready in the same building without seeing each other. Both Hayleigh and Paul decided to buy gifts for each other, some were custom made pieces that were very special to each other due to the pure emotion and reaction they both showed when opening the gifts.

The tractor arrived to pick up Hayleigh and her parents and at first, slowly started to make the short drive up to the main barn. Now usually, I can walk behind and capture some beautiful images, but today the tractor was on some speed mission, and I had to run in the summer heat to grab a few shots! Slow down, Mr tractor, man!

The Godwick Hall Wedding Day

A fabulous ceremony followed. This time the service was at the end of the barn rather than in the middle. For me, the lighting was better here, to capture a very emotional exchange of vows. After the ceremony, we all made our way out into the garden, decorated with bails of hay and a couple of fire pits ready for the evening.

Pimms and cold beers were flowing before taking a walk around the grounds for some couples shots at the old church ruins. The meal then followed by the speeches.

Now comes the part of the day that was kept a secret from everyone but a select few........Both Paul and Hayleigh are keen DJ's and had planned to do there own set with glowsticks and banging beats from the '90s!
