Godaddy has a webpage dedicated to the upcoming new gTLD .show

Here is what Godaddy has to say about the extension:

Everything from feature films to television shows to theater performances use the term “show.” If your site relates to any of those, register .show domain names for instant recognition and to distinguish yours from all the other sites flooding the web.”

Hum

Well if you’re a movie or television studio, producer or owner of the TV show, movie or theater production, you certainly can use .show as your domain name but if you have no relation to the show you are really running the risk of getting into Cybersquatting territory.

Can I register TheVoice.show or AmericanIdol.show or BookofMormon  or starwars.show.

Who can get into trouble for that?

Of course people will register what they will register but its a whole different thing for a registrar to tell customers, many who are uninformed about trademarks and domains that they can register domains related to  television shows feature films and theater performances.

They maybe able to register the domain but can they keep the domain and how will they feel when Godaddy told them they could
