GMOA Proposes Five Point Plan to Contain Dengue

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has proposed a five point action plan to prevent a possible emergence of a massive Dengue epidemic situation in Sri Lanka. 

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said the GMOA has proposed to strengthen the mechanism of identifying dengue red spots at regional level and Grama Niladhari level and conduct dengue prevention programmes through community based societies.It has also proposed to strengthen the inter party mechanism of preventing dengue through the technical advice of Health officials. Implementing a school based awareness programme is also planned. The GMOA has aso proposed to conduct all fogging and other mosquito prevention methods under the technical guidance of the experts. It has also proposed to strengthen dengue related laws and regulations.
