Glorious Soup

By Evette Garside @evette77

For the past two weeks or so I have been eating a whole lot of soup thanks to the guys over at Glorious Foods.

Glorious Soup

Glorious soups are so different to the usual tinned variety. Firstly these soups are chilled and stay cool and fresh in the fridge and secondly they taste so much better too.
There seems to be a wide variety of flavours to choose from and the soups also come in two sorts. First the Skinnylicious soups.

Glorious Soup

The skinnylicious pots all contain less than 2% fat and under 150 calories per portion. They contain a vast array of worldwide ingredients and aromatic spices. I'm not usually a fan of the usual Tomato based soups but these taste so different that it doesn't even taste like soup.

This one is the Mexican Sol which is made with a crushed tomato base and infused with fire roasted peppers it was lovely and very spicy, almost like a chilli sauce.

I also enjoyed the Sun-Kissed in Sicily made with Pomodoro tomato and a selection of herbs.

Glorious Soup

This soup was more redder in colour and had a sweet but zingy flavour. A little like a fine pasta sauce flavour.

For a more filling meal there are the Meal Soups which include 5 flavour varieties. These tend to contain chicken or meat and more chunkier ingredients for a more hearty dish.

Glorious Soup

My overall favourite of these is the Timeless Tuscany. It's chicken and Orzo with tomatoes and a blend of vegetables.

Glorious Soup

It's quite a chunky soup with lots going on inside it, bold colours of all the lovely chunky veg blended together with delicious flavour and spices. I love the taste of this one.

The soups are really easy to make. They just need heating for 5-6 minutes in the microwave and can be are straight from the plastic pots they come in or tipped in a bowl. Lovely with a few slices of bread to dip in and really warm up the chest on a cold day.

Glorious Soup

The soups all get inspirations from places across the world, hence the soup titles. Each one being made with a recipe native to that country. All made with real vegetables and spices blended together in a big pot ready to simply heat and eat.
Glorious foods have also recently introduced a selection of Italian sauces which are perfect for creating Italian dishes at home.

As the soups and sauces are chilled products it does unfortunately mean that the shelf life is not all that long. They usually keep okay for about 2/3 weeks in the fridge.
