Ever wanted to take a safari? The Global Wildlife Center in Folsom Louisiana is like a safari in the South. Okay, so there may not be lions and cheetahs chasing herds of elephants, but you do get to see giraffes, deer, zebras, and so much more.
Hop on board one of these exciting wagon tours at Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, LA. These wagons take you on a fantastic voyage through the preservation area where the free-roaming animals come right up to the vehicle to be hand-fed.
Tractor Transportation
For a more intimate tour, you can take one of these private Pinzgauers. These tours can hold up to nine people and take the same route as the wagons at a more leisurely ride.
Global Wildlife Limos
Get up close to zebras, deer, giraffes, camels and so much more. These gorgeous creatures walk (and sometimes run) right up to the vehicles to get love (in the form of feed).
Some of these beautiful creatures are more photogenic than others.
Kenin is not one of them, but this cute llama sure is.
We were chugging along in our private Pinz, feeding animals and this giraffe walks right up to us. He was happily being hand-fed by us and then…
decided to take matters into his own hands. Kenin was not too happy to be scorned by such a majestic creature.
All of the animals at the Global Wildlife Center are free-roaming and they all seem to get along beautifully. Everyone is well fed and they all get lots of attention so there is no room for fighting.
We happened to be lucky enough to visit shortly after spring time and you know what that means??? Babies! Who wouldn’t want to snuggle one of these adorable baby giraffes?

If giraffes aren’t your idea for a great snuggle, how about one of these little deer? I was giddy at the chance to get up close with all of these amazing animals. I was pretty much in “cute overload”.

All of the animals here looked quite content. These beautiful guys were just laying in a mud pit taking in some sunshine. This tour was a fantastic way for us to spend our morning.
The Global Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization and they take pride in the education and passion that comes from this one-of-a-kind free-roaming sensory experience. It is home to over 4,000 exotic, endangered, and threatened animals from all over the world. Give them a visit and see what they are all about.
