Bodega Zuccardi - Wine 100 pts Robert Parker - Wine Advocate

The wine will be launched this week in the main cities of the world such as Buenos Aires, São Paulo, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, London and Hong Kong.

This wine was born as a result of the search for the purest expression of identity of Finca Piedra Infinita. Coming from a specific 0.51 hectare plot, located northwest of the farm in Paraje Altamira.

In his 2020-2021 report on Argentina for Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Luis Gutiérrez maintains that Finca Piedra Infinita Gravascal 2018 "has in its notes reminiscences of some northern Rhone wines, a combination of orange peel, blood and iron, which denote freshness and minerality, with a chalky sensation and a finish that mixes juiciness and texture. The Zuccardi have reached the fine tuning for these parcel wines, with which they started almost experimentally in the 2015 vintage. I find this 2018 superb. Fineness, elegance, simply superb! ".

In the words of Sebastián Zuccardi, Winemaker of the winery, "when making this wine I like to think that it comes from" a said place ". Those of us who work daily in this vineyard know that it has special places, with truly unique characteristics ". Regarding the 2018 vintage, Sebastián recalls that it was "fresh and dry, which guaranteed exceptional health and produced wines of great finesse and elegance. These conditions reached really exceptional levels in some plots of Piedra Infinita ".

Finca Piedra Infinita

In our search for the purest expression of the identity of Finca Piedra Infinita, we came to this small plot of 0.73 hectares.

Located in its extreme northeast, at 1100 meters above sea level, it shows one of the typical facets of the Paraje Altamira soil. It has a surface layer formed by the alluvial fan of the Tunuyán River and later enriched with fine sediments, forming a horizon of about 40 to 50 cm of sandy loam texture. Below this is a 40 to 50 cm layer of medium to large alluvial gravels, composed mostly of granitic rocks and covered with calcium carbonate.

In depth you can see the river bed of the river. These soils naturally have an excellent balance between moisture retention and drainage, allowing the vineyard to achieve practically perfect vigor and balance. The Gravascal plot was planted in 2009, free-standing. When making these wines I like to think that they come from a "said place", since those of us who work in this vineyard every day know that it has special places, with unique characteristics.
