Glasgow Coffee Roasters Thomson's to open roastery and cafe
Glasgow based coffee company Thomson's have announced that it will be opening a state of the art open plan roastery, café, bakery and training space in Glasgow's famous Argyle Arches. ( Click here to read more about the current Thomson's Coffee site)
The Arches venue is being developed into a new, vibrant, space with a focus on the community. It will be home to small, local producers including a weekly street food market called PLATFORM* and events.
Thomson's Coffee Roastery will occupy the first of the seven iconic adjoining archway. The open plan roastery, café, bakery and training centre will provide customers with a unique opportunity to experience the roasting process alongside a 58 seater café and in-house bakery offering pizzas, breads and pastries all baked on site.
Russell Jenkins, managing director of Thomson's Coffee Roasters said: "As Thomson's embarks on its 176th year, opening our first open plan coffee roastery, café, bakery and training centre in Glasgow is a great milestone for the business.
A Glasgow business through and through, the roastery will see us return to our roots in the city centre and we are proud to be the first business to take a space in The Argyle Street Arches."
The Roastery will also serve as a training centre for Thomson's trade and public customers. The space will enable them to offer tailored training for our café and restaurant customers as well as running SCA certified barista and brewing classes for coffee professionals and enthusiasts alike.
*PLATFORM at Argyle Street Arches will open on Friday 16th February with ten of Scotland's best independent street food traders and vendors, including Thomson's Coffee Roastery. Thomson's will be open for the PLATFORM street food markets and thereafter will open to the public from Monday 26th February, 2018.
