Giving Thanks

Post marriage Thanksgivings have always a little bittersweet for me. As you know when you get married you not only join lives with another person but also their families which then translates into figuring out where to go/what side to spend the holidays with. Since the beginning the husband and I have done the every other holiday bit. Thanksgiving with his side then a Thanksgiving with my side then we do it all over again a few weeks later for Christmas. While I do adore his family so much it is always hard not being with my parents, sisters, grandmother & cousins on this day. I will say I do miss being with my side of family this year. There is something about being with someone else’s family, joining in on traditions that are not your own that is just, well different. I hope that in the near future the husband and I will be able to host Thanksgiving at our home and create our own traditions that we can eventually ‘force’ our children (way, way in the future) to participate in.

I don’t want to bore you with my list of who and what I am thankful for because that could go on for forever but the one person that I will mention is my husband. You guys, I cannot tell you how sweet, generous, caring, loving and supportive he is. He is my other half who is always there for me, listening (most of the time) and helping me through everything. He is my rock and I do not know what I would do without him. Can you tell I am obsessed? Though I am thankful for him everyday of the year, just thought I would tell all of you about it today! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you are participating in Black Friday tomorrow I hope you snag everything on your list! Cheers.
