Here's a quick look at yet another entry level smartphone. Gionee recently launched a very competitively priced smartphone that claims to provide superior battery backup than other smartphones in its segment or even higher segment.
The new smartphone launched by Gionee is P2M. It has as its highlight a 3000 mAh battery. That would definitely sound good to those users whose smartphone usage is high and who, as a result, remain troubled by the battery discharging too soon.
Talking about P2M, Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, "Battery still remains a huge concern for the smartphone users specially in the sub 10K category in India, and to bring a revolutionary change to the user experience, we are excited to announce our latest offering the P2M. The Pioneer P2M is one of its kind in India with a massive power backup over 3000 mAh. With Gionee's innovation and power driven technology the Pioneer P2M will ensure long lasting communication and better experience for the consumers."
Other specs of Gionee P2M include 1.3 GHz Quad processor, 16 GB internal storage and 1 GB RAM. It has 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and 2.0 front camera. P2M is a dual-SIM phone (Dual standby) and is available in white, black and golden colour options in India. Gionee P2M is priced at INR 6,999.
As mentioned before, the battery capacity of P2M is its highlight. A 3000 mAh battery in an entry level phone should appeal to young users especially whose smartphone battery runs out too soon due to heavy gaming and video watching. However, a 5 Mp rear and 2 MP front camera in a phone costing around 7 thousand rupees is a little disappointing as we now have brands offering better camera specs in this price segment. The internal storage is good though and the 1GB RAM should work well meeting the needs of most smartphone users. All in all, P2M sounds like a very decent entry-level smartphone with excellent battery capacity.
