Before I went on a two-month maternity leave, my officemates and friends were gushing over how well timed my pregnancy turned out to be. As mandated by law, I am entitled to a maternity pay but because 2012 is almost gone I also stand to get my year-end bonus. It’s sort of funny and at the same time horrible because it seems like I was paid to get pregnant and give birth.
Kidding aside, I am both dreading and anticipating my return to work in three weeks time. As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post, I would be having a hard time leaving the baby to work full time again. However, I’m also looking forward to getting back to my responsibilities at the office. Our division is under staffed which means I’ll be up to my neck in stalled work.
But reporting back to the office in December would not be entirely bad because it’d be Christmas season already, which means fun things like sales and parties.
Speaking of which, I will be attending at least three cocktail parties at work in succession: one for the entire organization, one for our department and another for the media. And we all know what parties mean, right? Dresses!
I have already started shopping around for cocktail dresses while I’m still on leave because it never hurts to prepare early. None of the dresses I’ve seen in the fashion boutiques in Zamboanga have caught my eye so I turned to the web, hoping for an inspiration.
