I wasn’t expecting to see a stunt plane at a powerboat racing weekend, but for a few minutes this aerial show transported me to my previous expat life in the USA when flying in a small vintage airplane was a typical weekend activity. It’s been a decade, but that aerial display brought it all back: the thrills of soaring through the sky in all directions — including upside down, although we weren’t pulling stunts anywhere near this daring.
While I was shooting these pictures of the plane from Alfândega, Paulo (and Ice) had a much better vantage point of the aerial show from the top deck of the Luís I Bridge.
