Get Your Online Dating While It’s Hot

It has often been said that finding the right relationship involves many factors and timing is one of them. I agree and Match.com along with other dating sites has the statistics to back this up.

Last year Match found January 2nd to be the busiest day of the year in the world of online dating. It saw a 55 percent jump in new members on that day. Now a year later Match has found that the best day for anyone to join a dating website is January 5th at 8:57 pm. Apparently last week on this day and time, Match recorded it’s highest ever record for sign-ups to the site.

According to Match’s users, 51% of singles’ New Year’s resolutions are to socialize more and find that special someone. This explains the large bump in new profiles after the holiday. The holidays are also the engagement season which can lead unattached singles to get motivated to find someone for a serious relationship in 2014.Then there are the dark and cold days of winter ahead that lead to a desire to connect and have someone to cozy up to in front of a warm fire.

How About We reports a 40% membership rise in January and February and ChristianMingle says it registers 41% more singles between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. The rising numbers of emails and profiles views during this winter period show the motivation singles feel to meet and connect with others.

The dating app Zoosk has seen a recent increase of 41% in signups since the extreme cold weather hit the nation. There’s just something about being stuck at home on a cold day that leads to thoughts of connecting and sharing moments with others. This year Zoosk saw a huge jump between January 2nd and 7th- the same period that an arctic blast impacted most of the nation.

Now that you have returned from the holiday, gotten back to work and your usual routines- consider going online and either signing up or redoing/ punching up your profile. This is clearly a great time of the year for finding love- and from what the forecasts are saying it looks to be a long, cold winter outside, which could mean a sizzling hot one online.
