I'll be honest with you, I wasn't much into regular face masking, let alone taking time out for massage and salon facials. But now in my mid 30s with dull, winter-worn skin and multiple fine lines showing all over my face, I feel like I can't say this enough - ladies, ladies, ladies...please take care of your skin early!

Because if you don't, you might end up lamenting like me over the loss of your glow late in your 30s! Anyways, I'm not here to scare you or make you feel bad about something but rather take you into the glorious land of skincare, where you can't help but feel good about your glowing skin.

The kit comprises of four skincare products: scrub, lotion, whip, and a wrap of 50 g each. All of these four products are plant based with rich nourishing ingredients like cocoa butter, turmeric, licorice, aloe-vera, mulberry extract etc.

Cocoa butter, which is believed to deeply hydrate and firm the skin is the kit's star ingredient.If you're looking for a pampering skincare treat that's effective and budget-friendly as well, this four-step facial kit has got you covered.

How do I use it?

The directions for use are clearly mentioned step by step in good detail at the back of the box.

Step 1: Exfoliate Exfoliate skin using The Butter Facial scrub by massaging it gently on skin in circular motions for 3-5 minutes. Rinse off with water or damp cotton to reveal fresh, new skin. Step 2: Moisturize The next step is to moisturize the skin using Butter Moist Lotion. Take appropriate amount of lotion and apply on face and neck. Massage lightly in upward and outward strokes until the lotion gets absorbed by the skin. Step 3: Nourish The Butter Moist Whip is a richer formula in the kit to deeply nourish, firm and brighten the skin. Take appropriate amount of the whip, apply over face and neck, massage using circular motion in upward and outward strokes until the formula gets completely absorbed by the skin. The last or the final step in the kit is to tone the skin using the Butter Whip Wrap. Enriched with cocoa butter, sunflower oil, and sweet almond oil, this deep penetrating facial mask increases skin elasticity, reduce appearance of wrinkles & lines, and improves skin tone. I used the kit last week and just loved the results. The texture of my skin feels so much softer, smoother, brighter than before. Each product in the kit performs a different step in the facial process. Here's my experience and take on each of these four products:

Butter Facial Scrub
I think physical scrubs do help to exfoliate my skin but they're often too harsh and drying on my sensitive skin for long term use. But Specific butter facial scrub with its ultra-fine beads and plant extracts is extra gentle on my skin. It exfoliates without leaving my skin feeling tight and dry. After just 3 minutes of scrubbing, my skin looked crystal clear and clean.
Butter Moist Lotion
This light lotion is like a moisturizing serum designed to target specific skin issues. It instantly calms and hydrates dry, sensitive skin after exfoliation. The texture is like a hybrid between a light lotion and a serum. After applying this on my face and neck, my skin felt immediately soothed and prepped for intenser massage.
Butter Moist Whip
Ohh...yummyyy! My wrinkles-prone dry, sensitive skin super loved this stuff. Packed with rich moisture and healthy lipids, this butter moist whip is ultra nourishing on skin. This is one massage cream that hydrates like nobody's business!

While, the texture does feel a bit thick and greasy but it all gets absorbed by the skin and in the end there's no oily or sticky residue behind. My skin looked nourished, hydrated and rejuvenated after massaging with this cream.

Butter Moist Wrap
Now this is a thick gooey mask but totally non-messy and very convenient to use. All you have to do is just spread a pea-sized amount all over your face and neck. Wait for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. All that's left is vibrant, glowing skin drenched in moisture and beauty.
What's good about the kit?

• Affordable
• Convenient packaging
• Effective in removing blackheads, whiteheads without drying or irritating the skin
• Effective in removing dryness and signs of dullness
• Gives professional results at home
• Skin looks vibrant, nourished and well-moisturized
• Glow effect stays for about 5-7 days

What's not so good about it?

• Does not contain clinically proven anti aging actives like retinol, AHAs, BHAs, etc.
• May not suit very oily or acne-prone skin.
• Not suitable for summers or where the weather is pretty hot and humid.

The Final Word:
Generally speaking, I'm quite skeptical when it comes to skincare products that are herbal or plant-based or better put, products that don't contain clinically proven active ingredients like retinol, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, etc.

And since the products in the kit do contain ingredients with long-term scientific studies backing their anti-aging claims, I can't conclusively say that this facial kit is effective or ineffective when it comes to treating the signs of aging such as wrinkles, loose sagging skin, dark spots and pigmentation.

But what I can say with confidence is that the products in the kit do help with my big skin issues, which are mainly dullness, dryness, fine lines and tired looking skin. The kit has worked wonderfully for my dry, dull, winter-worn skin. I have used the kit twice in last 1.5 months and have totally loved the results.

While, the immediate post facial-glow stays for just a few days, a certain degree of vibrance and freshness still lingers on the skin for days to come.

Do I recommend VLCC Specifix Professional Butter Moist Kit?

Yes, only if you have dry, dull skin like me and looking to brighten complexion in the comfort of your home using plant-based products.
