Former Roc-a-Fella mogul Dame Dash is opening up about his struggles with type 1 diabetes and building a whole network around it. The 46-year-old just launched something called the “Dash Diabetes Network”. Dame seems to be opening up about this his coexistence with type 1 diabetes since he was a teen and producing material around the disease to help others in his situation. Diabetes is 60% more common in black Americans than in white Americans according to WebMD— so Dame may have a great amount of Diabetes survivors tuning in.
Dame says:
“Not many people talk about it when they have it. It shows character, you can do everything everyone can do–plus that. Diabetes is not a weakness, its a way to showcase your strength.”
