Well you need not worry because by next summer, Bristol will have the answer to that. The determined team at The Wave recently received full planning approval to build what will be known as the country’s first ever wave garden.
Although getting in the water and Britain’s inconsitent weather aren’t exactly synonymous – The Wave is all about creating an interaction with the natural world and giving kids a healthy dose of something proactive and more inspiring than perhaps the TV and crisps.
The surfing lake produces great barrelling waves, perfect for novices and professionals alike. It also encourages those who haven’t tried the sport before to come and join in on the water loving spirit and be part of this new and dynamic community. But it’s not all just about the surf – around the area you’ll find barefoot trails, foraging areas, an organic cafe and a healing garden.
