The Government of India is soon going to come up with a new ‘Mobile Tracking System’, through which you will be able to easily find your stolen smartphone. This is the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) system. This system not only allows the users to block the lost phone, but through this platform, they can also track their lost or stolen phone. In the latest report of Economictimes, citing a senior government official, it has been informed that the government is going to rollout this ‘mobile tracking system’ soon. Center for Department of Telematics (CDoT) is testing this new CEIR system in several telecom circles, including Delhi Maharashtra, Karnataka etc.

If reports are to be believed, the government may launch this CEIR system pan-India on May 17. The report states that CDoT’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Project Board Rajkumar Upadhyay has also confirmed that the technology is ready for a pan-India launch. However, he did not reveal its launch date.

What is CEIR system?

The CEIR system aims to make it easier for people to track their lost mobile phones. Through this system, users can block their stolen phone, so that no one else can use that phone. Along with this, he can also see the status of the block phone through it. If he finds the phone, he can also unblock the phone through this platform.

Fill these details to block the phone

As soon as you go to CEIR, you will see the option of Block Stolen/Lost Mobile. After clicking on it, some details of your phone will be asked. In this, details like mobile number, IMEI 1, device brand, device model, mobile receipt, where lost, phone lost date, city nearest police station, police complaint number, phone owner name, home address, email id will have to be entered. .
