One of the things I love about Dallas, is that you can never be bored - unless you just want to be. Here are a few event highlights for the week of January 14, 2013:
On Wednesday, January 16th, Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House will be one of few bars in the country to host Avery Brewing Company’s Dictator’s Unite event. The tappings will occur at the same time at establishments in California, Colorado and Texas. The event will also feature local band Holt and Stockslager performing the music of Simon and Garfunkel. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the tapping at 8 p.m., followed by Holt and Stockslager’s performance at 9 p.m.
THE FASHIONISTAS will be the beneficiaries of Spring Getaway | Runway for a Cause, a Greenhill student production, on January 19th. As I’m sure most of your listeners know, the NHL has finally reached an agreement with the players union and this year’s hockey season is headed back to the ice! Our own Dallas Stars will have their first home game on January 19th against the San Jose Sharks. Upcoming home games will be on the 23d against the Chicago Blackhawks and the 26th against the St. Louis Blues.
The Dallas Stars are celebrating 20 years in Dallas during the 2012-13 season with special events and commemorative merchandise, all honoring past and present players. The club will also wear a commemorative 20-year patch on its jerseys.
The Dallas Stars have teamed up with 7-Eleven to create the "Kids Free" Ticket Promotion, a new program for Stars home games allowing children ages 12 and younger to receive free tickets with the purchase of a full price ticket. Fans can visit www.DallasStars.com and click the "Kids Free" Ticket Offer logo on the front page of the website to purchase tickets.
