Touring the boneyard at the Yanks Air Museum in Chino, one never knows what they might encounter.  Here is a stripped out F-111D formerly of the 522nd “The Fireballs” Fighter Squadron (27th Fighter Wing USAF).  The D-variant was an upgraded F-111A equipped with newer avionics, more powerful engines, improved intake geometry, and an early version of a glass cockpit.  Of the 563 Aardvarks produced, 96 were F-111Ds. Protruding from the center of the structure is the fuel dump port, a feature utilized to great acclaim by the Royal Australian Air Force during their airshow “dump and burn” demonstrations.
