While one can have many reasons to mention like genre, an out of form director, midweek release etc, the fact is that Govindudu Andarivadele had a weak opening. Lack of big buzz leading up to the release was evident and the opening day numbers show it. The film has performed the best in Uttar Andhra, East and West territories while the rest were okay. A territory like Krishna was affected due to some local issues and Nizam was genuinely slow to begin with. While there has been steady rise after slow beginning in the bigger centers, the smaller centers have unanimously remained poor.

A trend that has been common with previous family movies is seen here as well with the noon and matinee shows being poor to slow but the first and second show making up for it with big pick up. Will this be a sustained trend throughout its run or just till the holidays last, would, ultimately decide the final collections of the film.

Early estimates for Day 1 suggest the collections of the film in the range of 8.3Cr to 8.5Cr. Based on this early estimate it’s suffice to say that GAV would not find a place in the top 5 openings of all time for Day 1. It would therefore be first time that a Ram Charan film would not be able to make it to top 5 on opening day.
