After the release of version v201007 "Golden Eagle" last month, the Garuda team has now ad a new major version 201119 dubbed "Black Eagle" of its Arch-based Garuda Linux.
What's new in Garuda Linux 201119?
Unsurprisingly, this Garuda v201119 also introduces a new edition called dr460nized. It's a clean, lightweight, and modified KDE version with a lot of fuzziness, macOS like the app menu at the top, Latte like a dock, and fishshell.
So in total, Garuda Linux now offers 15 editions: KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, LXQT-Kwin, Wayfire, i3WM, Deepin, MATE, Cinnamon, Recbox, UKUI, BSPWM, dr460nized, Barebone KDE and GNOME.
Among other editions, the latest Garuda has reorganized Xfce packages and configurations, updated GNOME Extensions and Flagfox, and removed redundant theme choices from the KDE edition.
Along with the new edits changes, Garuda Linux now has a new GUI to install all kinds of apps after the initial installation.
This means that your Lite edition has become lighter than before and you will no longer have an "overloaded installation" as some applications have been moved to the Unified Setup Assistant. There you can easily choose which apps you want to install on your new system.
Also, even if you don't want to install any other apps, make sure to run the setup wizard as it enables the required user services like PSD (Profile-sync-daemon).
And especially for gamers, Garuda Linux now includes a new application called "Garuda Gamer". It is a GUI application that helps to install and activate all kinds of game components like Steam or WINE required in Linux with just one click.
Like the older versions, the Welcome app once again received some useful improvements such as shortcuts for only important items, an improved GDM Wayland toggle, and an updated HiDPI mode.
In addition, all settings and items related to system maintenance, which can be found in the new Garuda Assistant app, now offer more options than before, such as blocking local ads via hblock.

- Adding the micro-configuration
- Terminus defined as TTY font
- Neofetch ASCII art logo
- Updated Latte layout in KDE edition
- Firewall disabled by default
- Default Firefox addons
- Networkmanager added for GNOME barebones
