Inside The Box

We all admit that the first impression lasts long. And this gaming combo won’t let you down in this area. When I first received my GameSir VX2 AimSwitch Gaming Combo, I wasn’t able to stop glaring at the box for a few seconds. And I was triggered to open the box as quickly as possible.

And this is what all I found inside the box.

Design

Let’s talk about the design of the VX2 Mechanical Keypad first.

The moment you’ll hold the keyboard in hand, you’ll realize that the build of the keyboard is strong enough to bear the frustration of the gamers. The surface of the keyboard is made of tough aluminum alloy and has a clean curve on all the four sides which make it look classy.

Being a gadget solely designed for gaming, the VX2 Gaming Mechanical Keypad is extremely space friendly. Just expand your palm full and the keyboard will easily fit into it. So unlike your regular keyboard, with this gaming keyboard, you don’t have to worry about the space to move the mouse.

Even a toddler can effortlessly differentiate between the keys of a regular keyboard and the keys of the VX2 Gaming Mechanical keyboard. The mechanical keys of the keyboards are perfect for gamers who can’t take the risk of missing a keystroke in an intense situation in the game. The RGB backlight of the keyboard makes the gadget look even more stylish and ensures an uninterrupted game even when the room’s light goes out.

The bottom part of the VX2 AimSwitch keyboard is made of hard plastic with friction causing rubber pads to avoid the unnecessary displacement of the keypad while playing the game.

Another eye-catching thing on the keyboard is a little joystick which can be used to move your character or select the options in the menu of your game.

Now let’s come to the other item of the VX2 AimSwitch Combo which is GM400 Mouse.

Just by the look of it, you can easily tell that there’s something different about this mouse. GM400 Mouse has a honeycomb-like design made of solid plastic. The white surface under the honeycombs emits various RGB lights that make the mouse look more beautiful.

Two side buttons on the left, DPI Button on the top, and the long fabric cord makes the mouse a considerable gadget for the gamers.

If you’re making your mind to buy a new device just for gaming then you expect it to be a little enhanced than what you normally use. VX2 AimSwitch combo certainly lives up to expectations and helps you develop your gaming skills with its enhanced features.

The Mechanical Gaming Keyboard has a total of 36 keys which are found on the left side of the regular keyboard.

So it can be said that this keyboard is solely dedicated to gaming and cannot be used for your regular typing work. And the keys of the keyboard are mechanical which means that keystrokes won’t get missed even if the key is half-pressed. The keyboard is connectable with a wire of course but if you don’t like a pile of tangling wire on your table while playing then you can go for the wireless connection.

Battery backup should always be a highly considerable aspect while choosing a gaming accessory.

And you’ll be glad to know that this gaming keyboard includes a 3600 mAh battery. It means that you can play games for long hours without getting concerned over the battery situation. Moreover, the keyboard supports the type-c connector, promising fast charging.

Exactly like a GM300 Mouse, the GM400 Mouse comes with a DPI adjustment button. This means that you can adjust the sensitivity of the mouse according to your convenience.

There are a total of 7 DPI adjustment levels. Green means 400DPI, red means 800DPI, blue means 1600DPI, yellow means 2400DPI, orange means 3200DPI, purple means 64000DPI, and white means 120000DPI.

Another ease to the gamers is given by the mouse’s Polling Rate Adjustment.

The polling rate adjustment simply means the time that the mouse takes to show its response on the screen. The more the polling rate the frequent will be the response on the screen.

In total there are four polling rate adjustments that can be changed by clicking on the DPI button along with the back button on the left. If white color flashes once, the polling rate is 125Hz, two flashes mean 250Hz, three flashes mean 500Hz, and four flashes mean 1000Hz.

The features of both gadgets in the combo are enough to satisfy the cravings of any gamer.

Performance

The lack of some additional features can be compromised in a gadget but when it comes to the performance part, it’s a big no.

The performance of any gadget should always be top-notch, especially when it has to do something with gaming.

As we have discussed above, the VX2 Gaming Mechanical Keyboard has a 3600 mAh battery and supports a type-C cable.

And I was really satisfied to see that the keyboard gets completely charged in two and a half to three hours. Once it gets fully charged, you can savor the keyboard with 8-10 hours of continuous gaming.

But still, it should have been better if there was a battery indicator with a percentage instead of the blue light when VX2 is connected, green light when it’s charging, and the red light when the battery is 15% or below.

We tested the combo on Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 7 and played Call Of Duty.

There’s no point in hiding that eight to ten matches went disastrous for us. But slowly when we got used to it and started remembering the keys, this is where the fun began.

Throughout our testing, the latency for both the keyboard and mouse was absolutely low. So there was always the quickest reaction to whatever key or button was pressed.

So we can say that the combination and performance of the GameSir VX2 AimSwitch Gaming Combo are quite deadly for the other gamers once you get used to it.

Software To Use With The App

Be it GameSir VX2 AimSwitch or any other complex game controller, the default settings are always a mess. In order to change the settings of the controller, you need to install the Gamesir G-Crux app on your smartphone.

1. For installing the G-Crux app on your device, open the user manual that you get with the combo. You need to head to the page “CONNECT GAMESIR-VX2 TO G-Crux APP“

2. Scan the given barcode or use this link to head to the GameSir G-Crux app installation page.

3. Tap on the button that says Go to download for Android & iOS.

4. On the next page, tap on the button according to your smartphone. (We are using an Android device for the app installation.)

5. Finally, tap on INSTALL to install the app on your device.

Now it’s time to connect VX2 to the Gamesir G-Crux app.

After switching on the VX2 gaming keyboard, a green light starts to appear.

This means that the keyboard is ready to connect. Now you need to simultaneously press the FN and F4 keys, after which a blue indicator can be seen. Open the Bluetooth on your smartphone and connect it with GameSir VX2. Once the pairing between both the devices is done, open the G-Crux app and customize the button settings of GameSir VX2 Mechanical Keyboard.

It sounds like a little pain that you need to take. But once the desired configuration is done, your gaming competitors will have a hard time fighting you.

Supported Devices

Some gamers prefer using Windows PCs and laptops while others prefer using PlayStation. Some prefer to play on Xbox and others prefer the Nintendo switch. Keeping the different choices in mind, GameSir has made its VX2 AimSwitch compatible with most devices.

To use the GameSir VX2 AimSwitch on a computer system or laptop, you should have a Windows 7, 8, or 10. PlayStation users are good to go with PS4, PS4 Slim, or PS4 Pro. If your choice is an Xbox, then Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X can be one of your choices. Similarly, the Nintendo players can go for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.

Although the devices that are supported with the VX2 AimSwitch combo are completely different, the method to connect with all of them is almost the same. Just plug the GM400 mouse with a USB cable to VX2 and then connect 2.4GHz Receiver to the gaming console. Finally enjoy the game once the setup is complete.
