A big day for Game of Thrones fans. HBO went ahead and announced the premiere date and dropped a teaser for the forthcoming season seven. Information about the new season remained scarce and yet there was no official news since long, except only knowing that they would have to wait a little later than April, the usual time for new seasons to air.
When will Game of Thrones Season 7 air?
At long last, HBO have revealed that Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere on Sunday July 16th at 9 PM ET or at 2 AM on Monday, July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK. At last a good news for the fans who already waited extra time for the most wanted TV show. This had been burning question of the fans over last few months but there were only rumors yet no confirmation officially which has been made official this time. Hopefully the Game of Thrones Season 7 will be worth so much delay. We don't have anything in the form of new footage or video, but the network has revealed an extremely stylish teaser trailer that should get you pumped for what they have for us under their sleeve.

There is still a huge tinge of disappointment that we are at least 4 months away from being able to join the gang in Westeros. But with Daenerys Targaryen on her way to Westeros is presumed to kill everyone while Cersei Lannister who has apparently already taken the Iron Throne may not even spare or her brother or vice versa, Arya Stark is on her way to avenge her family by killing everyone on her pretty list, and Jon Snow who was crowned King of the North is all set to start his new ventures, so hopefully think the wait will be worth it.
The Season seven will unfortunately only be composed of seven episodes only rather than the usual ten. Series creator David Benioff said in an interview last year that he thinks the series has just about 15 episodes left before wrapping it up, it's a fair bet that the apparently season 8 is going to be the final season and it will be around eight episodes long.
With only 15 episodes left we can say there is not much left in the show to see but definitely a lot much excitement is yet to come. Whenever a show reaches it's final episodes, a lot of drama is created so we should fasten our seat belts for the "Total Chaos".
Why Game of Thrones Season 7 was Delayed
Filming schedules was changed because "winter has arrived", and the settings needed to reflect that. HBO's president of programming Casey Bloys said, Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing.
